Event: The Final Images

Out of the photos I posted, these are the ones I have chosen for my final ones. I chose the ones I felt represented the place the best, which was very difficult because I always love the photography I take here! I felt so lucky being able to travel here and use this for my project. I always get new pictures every year I go, whether it be from new attractions added or from the old ones. I like seeing how my work improves every year, and comparing these to last years my editing has improved a great deal, I’ve learnt loads of new techniques and ideas to make my work stand out more.

Event: Chosen Location

DSC_0110

My chosen location for my event assignment was Disneyland Paris. I knew that I would be visiting there after starting the second semester, so I took the opportunity to double up the photography from there for this project. I have now been to the theme park in Paris nine times since I was little, and I still absolutely love it. I photographed there when I went over in 2014. The image above is from that trip. Inside Sleeping Beauty’s castle, theres a stain glass window exhibit going through the main parts of the story. I’ve not been up to see it before so it was great to get some shots.

ARD506 Event Assignment

The Design Directions brief includes a range of assignments. They intend to provide you with conceptual work, in which you develop the idea of your image and capture it with a camera, and reactive work, where you respond to the images presented to you in real time. In some cases, you must communicate your ideas BEFORE you produce the images. In others you most communicate your intentions.

Event

Produce a mini portfolio of an event. This should be over a one or two day shoot and tackled as a professional assignment. Produce at least ten/twenty images that capture the essence of the event. Although the images may be of the same place or subject, use a range of shots (CU, MS, LS) to try and tell the story of what went on. Check the local newspaper for events that are happening near you that will provide good subject matter. Research is very important in any assignment.
